Character & Citizenship Education (CCE)
A Community of Compassionate, Upright Citizens
To nurture East Springians into compassionate individuals, with sound moral values and a deep sense of commitment to the nation.
With reference to Singapore’s educational backdrop of a student centric, values driven education, the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) Committee is instrumental in achieving the school goal of providing holistic education and character and citizenship development. The formative years of a secondary school student’s life will have profound impact on the personal and professional endeavors in the future. The committee aims to nurture every East Springian into upright citizens with care for others. This is achieved by developing every student imbued with deep values, lifeskills and deep commitment for the nation. The CCE Committee is committed in providing effective and meaningful experiences through a robust CCE curriculum implemented using R3ISE lessons and SFL platforms, a vibrant Values In Action (VIA) programme, a comprehensive Sexuality Education (SEd) programme and a progressive Education & Career Guidance (ECG) plan.
In order to recognize exemplary students of character who demonstrate the school values, R3ISE Awards are presented to the deserving students. The R3ISE Awards are given out twice a year on a semestral basis. Students who exemplify the R3ISE (Respect; Responsibility; Resilience; Integrity; Synergy; Empathy) are nominated by their teachers and a rigorous selection of the award candidates will be carried out by the CCE committee. The award aims to encourage more students to emulate the good and desired behavior of the R3ISE Award winners and for all students to internalize the R3ISE values.
