Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to East Spring Secondary School (ESSS)! We welcome your child/ward to our Secondary One cohort in 2025 and we look forward to building a strong partnership with you.
Reporting Time for Day 1 (2 Jan 2025)
Students are to report in full school uniform at the parade square on the first day of school by 7.20 am. If you do not have the ESSS uniform, your child can report in his/her primary school’s full uniform.
There will be student leaders and signages to guide the students to the reporting area. In the event of wet weather, students will report directly to the assigned classrooms at the first level.
Purchase of Textbooks and School Uniform
You are encouraged to make your purchase of textbooks (refer to attached booklist) and uniforms online and opt for home delivery. We will provide more information via Parents Gateway. Alternatively, you can choose to come to the school to purchase your textbooks and school uniforms from 9 am to 3 pm.
G3 students: Please purchase G3 books for all your subjects.
G2/G1 students: If you are eligible to take a subject at a more demanding level, please wait for the school’s Letter of Offer before you purchase your books for the subject. We will send the Letter of Offer via PG by 19 Dec 2024. If you are taking all your subjects at G2 or G1 level, please proceed to buy the books for your respective G2 or G1 level.
HMTL students: If you are eligible to take HMTL, please wait for the school’s Letter of Offer before you purchase your HMTL books. We will send the Letter of Offer via PG by 19 Dec 2024.
School Smart Card (SSC)
All students entering Secondary One in Jan 2025 will be issued with a new Secondary level School Smart Card (SSC). While Secondary One Students are waiting for their Secondary level SSCs to be ready, they can continue to use their Primary level SSCs for concessionary travel till end Apr 2025. Students can purchase the Bus Concession Pass (BCP) using their Primary level SSCs but they would need to purchase the BCP for Secondary School students.
Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)
MOE FAS students - please do not make any online purchase. Students are to bring along the MOE FAS approval letter issued by their Primary School to ESSS during office hours to collect the ESSS approval document to be used for collection of textbooks from the bookshop, and school uniforms from the school uniform vendor. Please reach the school by 2pm if you wish to collect your books and uniform on the same day.
Students who wish to put in a new application for 2025 FAS can either

apply online by submitting an eFAS application via https://go.gov.sg/moe-efas with all relevant supporting documents from 18 Dec 2024 OR

apply in person by downloading the application form from https://www.moe.gov.sg/financial-matters/financial-assistance and submit the completed form with all relevant supporting documents to ESSS on 18 Dec till 27 Dec 2024 between 9 am and 2 pm.

Do not purchase the school uniforms and textbooks until you have received the outcome of your application.
